James-Furman & Company (JF & Co.) was founded by William Furman in August 2022, building on and honoring a corporation and partnership of the same name, formed in 1974 in his basement with the late Alan James.  These entities ultimately became The Greenbrier Companies, Inc., an international public company traded on the NYSE (GBX), with approximately $3.5 billion in annual revenue.

Today, JF & Co. operates as a private entity with offices in Zephyr Cove, Nevada and Lake Oswego, Oregon.  It owns or manages assets and businesses of just under $100 million USD.

JF & Co. reviews business opportunities, invests, and contributes both time and support, along with consulting and advisory services to management and boards to help businesses succeed.  JF & Co.’s goal is to help build and develop companies in a range of industries, drawing from its team’s specialized knowledge and record of success in business.  JF & Co.’s management and advisory work helps to create and sustain value in new and developing businesses.
